How often do Make up brushes need to be replaced?

I have a big brush for powder and a smaller one for blush, I have had them for about 4 years. I do wash them occasionally to keep them clean. I have to admit though I am lazy and don't wash them as much as I should.

I bought new ones today.

But I still wondered about this.

How about you?How often do Make up brushes need to be replaced?
So long as you wash them regularly, they should be fine until they fall apart.

I wash my personal brushes every other week or so and my work brushes after each use.

Make sure to use an anti-fungal wash occasionally. You can even wash them with shampoo, too.How often do Make up brushes need to be replaced?
It may be time to get new brushes! I just recently ordered really cheap ones from coastalscents.com and they are almost MAC quality! Seriously, check them out. You can get a whole set of new brushes for so cheap. They ship worldwide and even the S%26amp;H is cheap! But, if you don't want to get new brushes, you should try disinfecting your brushes with rubbing alcohol. Also, you should wash your brushes with soap or facewash every 7-14 days (or every 5 if your face is oily!).
If you get a good quality makeup brush, it should last years and years!!! I have the brushes from The Body Shop and because they are a synthetic nylon, they are not porous and do not harbor bacteria. I wash mine about once overy couple weeks and lay them flat to dry, fluff them out and they're as good as new.

As long as you take proper care of them, they shuold last ALOT more than 4 years.
They say after 6 months to throw them away and get new ones- to avoid infection or bacteria.
