What household products can I use to clean and disinfect my make-up brushes between uses?

Using a spray bottle. Witch hazel? Alcohol? Water? What household products can I use to clean and disinfect my make-up brushes between uses?
On a cloth put a very small amount of your make up remover (I use neutrogena oil-free) and 'brush' out the color on your cloth. This is quick and cleans the brush without leaving it soaked. What household products can I use to clean and disinfect my make-up brushes between uses?
Dont use alcohol to clean them.

Get some shampoo, mix with warm water in a bowl and swish your brushes around in the soapy water, using your fingers to knead the bristles softly to make sure any pigments/traces of makeup are cleaned off the hairs.

Rinse the cleaned brushes in warm clean water, and shake them to remove excess water, then in a clean towel , wrap them and softly squeeze any excess water out of the bristles.

Now air dry them, not in direct sunlight but just in natural light.

You can reshape the brush head while the bristles are still damp too, it will help keep them in tip top condition and preserve the life of them and you'll get years of good use out of them.
Hello,

Here's what I use:

Soap %26amp; Water

Shampoo %26amp; Water

Conditioner %26amp; Water

Any of the three do just aswell as any brand brush cleaner. I've also heard baby lotion is good for brushes but I use either one of those. It does the same job so why not. :)

Happy cleaning!

i use dawn dish liquid and warm water and its worked for me and my brushes for the last 12 years
