I was watching Tyra Show today and they showed this girl with this nasty make up it has organisms living in them!! Ugg Gross. They said cleaning was the key. How do I clean brushes and keep them in good shape. Please advise! How do I clean make up brushes? Or how long should I keep them?
You can use baby shampoo, some say it's better, and just let it dry. I think maybe it's a yearHow do I clean make up brushes? Or how long should I keep them?
i just soak my brushes in warm soapy water, rinse real well and let them air dry.
if you're using the natural one's then they last a longer time than the cheaper one's
Use a face wash that is cheap or baby shampoo. or just buy new ones. They r usually cheap. they should last u aboout one month if u use it every day.
i believe Sephora has makeup brush ';wipes';. You can clean your brushes with them, and they are usually dry by the naxt AM.
Quality brushes can last for many years. You will want to wipe clean them daily...Sephora sells brush wipes, but there are only 20 sheets in a pack. At $9, it is more economincal to buy brush cleaner that comes in a spray. Bare Escentuals, Smashbox, Paula Dorf, and Clinique all have spray brush cleaners ranging in price from $12.50 to $18. Simply spray cleaner on a tissue or paper towel, using a sweeping motion, glide the brush back and forth across the cloth with the bristle grain until no traces of residue remain. Allow to dry for a few minutes and there you go. You'll be removing oil and makeup in one easy motion.
And at least once a week give your brushes a thorough cleanse. Use gentle shampoo or hand soap...Dove, Johnson %26amp; Johnson's, etc. or you can buy a product specifically made for cleaning brushes. BE, Paula Dorf, and Vincent Longo have brush ';shampoos';. Clean the brushes with soap and water, squeeze out the excess water, and let air dry overnight.
If you follow this advice you will keep your brushes in tip top shape, and if you're prone to breakouts it should reduce some of those, too.
Hope that helped!

I have cleaned my brushes the same way for years, and they are in perfect condition and cleaned everyday.
I buy MAC Brush cleaner. Everyday after use, I squirt some MAC brush cleaner on a facial tissue. I then wipe each brush gently back and forth on the tissue, until no more product comes off. I let the brushes air dry, and they are clean and ready to go the next day!
Every month or two I do a full wash using baby shampoo. Just wash them with lukewarm water and baby shampoo with your hands, very gently. Squeeze all the water out, then lay them flat to dry.
I have a MAC 266 brush that I've been washing this way for at least five years, and it looks brand new!
Hi, I work at the MAC counter and we clean our burshes at night with suave shampoo, and then lay them on a paper towel to dry over night and during the day we wash them with MAC brush cleaner~!.
OH and by the way dont soak them it will lossen the glue that holds the fibers to the handle.
Wash it. You can keep them as long as you want.
for sponges and brushes, you can use antibacterial soap (any brand is fine) under lukewarm water, and they usually last about 3 years if you take care of them right. oh, and, don't forget to let the sponges and brushes air dry. don't use soap with moisturizers in it because that will leave some oil in the bristles and pores of the brush and sponge, and then the oil will go onto your face during application. so, moisturizing soap is a no-no
dead easy wash under a tap with soap you use, and just let them dry - its best to use a soap with moistoriser in it, then the brush brisles will be softer, just leave to dray it takes a few hours in the summer and longer in the winter
Girls should not wear makeup. It is unfair to guys, and dishonest.
