i'm a painter, and an avid makeup user, so i have found out that with brushes you pay for what you get. MAC makes great brushes, and thats why they cost a lot. any other ones i would recommend (lise watier, clinique) all cost nearly the same. if you really can't spend it you could try going to an art supply store, they will often stock good makeup brushes, or be able to find you the right watercolour brushes that many people use for makeup. good luck and whatever you go with, remember to treat your brushes like your own hair, wash and condition them with a good brush soap made for that purpose!What's the best Make-up Brush Set to get?

they may seem like they are too cheap so they seem really bad, but i find them great.

Seriously- dont think theyre just cr-ap because they are cheap. they are quite good.
N.Y.C brush set works good and its not expensive=)
