While practicing a look for a halloween photo shoot I'm doing this week I noticed that my make up brushes kind of left my face feeling a little raw about half way through my application (this is my first time experimenting with very detailed full face make up). Is there any way for me to soften my brushes up so I don't irritate my model's skin? How can I make my make up brushes softer?
You may have synthetic brushes. They are not as soft. But washing gently your brushes still helps them. Use sudsy water,%26amp; gently separate the bristles, %26amp; wash them really good. it may take 2 waters. Then rinse very very good. I used just a drop of my conditioner on mine %26amp; then I let them air dry. You can gently wipe the excess water off them. Turn them over occasionally to help them dry too. How can I make my make up brushes softer?
If you're keeping them very clean and sanitary, they're the softest they're going to get. You could try using a touch of conditioner on them after you wash them, but you don't want them to get oily or greasy, so use something like that sparingly.
Honestly, if you clean them and they're still rough, it may be time to invest in some quality brushes.
