Your make-up brushes harbor lots of dirt and bacteria, which can cause break-outs. They should be cleaned often with a mild brush cleaner or gently face wash or shampoo. Once a week is fine for brushes that you use with powders such as blush and eye shadows. However, any brush you use with liquids such as foundation or concealer should be cleaned daily. If you have the time, you can use one of the liquid cleansers I mentioned above. If you want to save a bit of time, you can use a spray make-up brush cleaner daily with some tissue to wipe it out and do a thorough cleansing once a week with your liquid cleanser.
You must make sure that you are using something mild (no hand or bar soaps) so it doesn't strip your brushes.
Your brushes should be rinsed thoroughly removing all dirt and cleanser. They should be squeezed dry and reshaped. Do not stand your brushes up, as the water will fall into the handle and cause bacteria to grow and make your brushes smell. Hang them over a ledge to allow the air to circulate around the brush so it dries thoroughly. Again, allowing your brushes to remain wet will allow bacteria to grow and make your brushes smell. How often should you clean (as in shampoo) your make-up brushes? Once a month? Every other week?
every other week is when i clean mineHow often should you clean (as in shampoo) your make-up brushes? Once a month? Every other week?
I agree 100% with Ffpansy
once a week if you use them on a daily basis
If you have oily/acne-prone skin you should clean them once a week. If you have normal/dry skin you should clean them once every 2-3 weeks. If you use your brushes in any cream or liquid products, then always clean them after every use. Just make sure to use a really mild shampoo, like baby shampoo.
I clean my brushes ever other week just to keep them fresh. That way it will keep your face cleaner and your make up will look much better as well!
If you use them on other people then clean them everyday. If not, then once a week is fine just to be sanitary.
Maybe I am weird, but I have NEVER cleaned a make-up brush. Ever. I've cleaned sponges...but usually I just toss them out after a week and get a fresh one.
I put my clean make-up on my clean face, never share it, and I am a germaphobe... and have never even once even thought about shampooing my brushes.
:?
I shampoo my makeup brushes about every 2 weeks.
Just a personal choice.
well i clean mine every few days as in once every 4 or 5 days but im paranoid that i will get spots.
my sisters clean theirs every week or so and my bffs do theirs every week and a half or every 2 weeks.
it depends on how much makeup u use, i guess, but i would suggest once every week.
hope this helps =]
clean your make up brushes twice a month. to do this-
take a cup fil it with warm water. add a few drops of mild shampoo and dip your brushes in it and swirl in the warm water for a few minutes. then rinse the brushes in clean clear cool water and let them air dry on a soft towel. remember to store your brushes upright to preserve the bristles.
i hope i helped you.
good luck!!
:D
Makeup brushes should be cleaned once every month. Makeup sponges are once every week, or even better, once after every use.
