Also, since you're a cosmetology student, you can apply for a MAC PRO card. It'll save you I think 20% at MAC as a student (artists get 40%, licensed you'd get 30% as a cosmetologist). Check their website at www.macpro.com
If you have a Target near you they carry a lot of makeup brushes, they're not hideously expensive, some are around 1-2 dollars a brush and some are higher.. which is the cheapest I've seen them unless you get lucky and find something like a MAC brush set (or any good brush set really) for super cheap on eBay.
